Minding Your Health is based on the evidence that Mindfulness reduces stress levels, improves performance and enriches relationships. The programme benefits staff as well as the children and young people they teach, support and care for. It supports the potential for whole organisations to nurture an optimistic, happier and resilient environment.
We have developed Minding Your Health together with professional Teaching and Support staff who have graduated as Mindfulness and Compassion Teachers with us and understand, through their own learning journey, the benefits of learning and embedding Mindfulness into their lives before integrating their new skills in their professional practice and all see the programme as;
“Bringing kindness and compassion to a child or young persons life by holding a caring, accepting relationship with ourselves and each other. Not simple another thing to add, but a choice way of being and responding.”
The Programme is steeped in real life experience and first-hand knowledge. “Mindfulness isn’t a standalone subject. It’s a practice that complements, enhances and enables the work we do within the areas of ELSA, emotion coaching and attachment trauma training. There are simple and effective ways of using Mindfulness within existing classroom practices to improve teaching and learning across the curriculum.” Debbie Fry, MindfulnessUK Graduate
