Sadly it’s a fact that these days people seem to live life at such a hectic pace where stress and anxiety seem to be perceived as a normal part of our lives and our ability to be able to control it and deal with it is having such a powerful affect on not only our mental health but also our physical health, we are creating and feeding a monster within us that we need to tame.
We are all different, it’s a fact, and dealing with things that life throws at us effects us all in different ways and finding what works for you when you are all ready feeling stressed just seems like another thing to have to deal with!
Stress and anxiety are life changing and they have a horrible impact not only on you but everyone around you. Fighting this monster within is exhausting and just seems to compound the stress it is already making us feel so to be able to privately within call upon a practise that takes us away from our thoughts and all the negativity our brains are shouting at us can and is life changing.
There is nothing in life as sure as the fact that all we have is this very moment..we can’t change or alter the past, we have no way of predicting the future, all we can be sure of is the here and now. Our brains make movies of their own predicting catastrophic scenarios that sent our anxiety levels soaring creating an ever increasing circle of misery within and while you are making these movies you are missing out on everything that is happening “RightNow” all the good and great little things that make life special have gone in a moment and you have missed them all.
Mindfulness is creating a place within your busy mind where you can turn off those movies. A place where you can learn to show yourself compassion and empathy and learn to live the moments that you are missing. A place of calmness that allows you to focus on how you are feeling right now not in the future with all the drama that we create for ourselves.
Mindfulness is a practise that has been scientifically proven to change our brains. The more we practise this wonderful state of calmness and just “Being” the bigger the benefit to our health and wellbeing will be achieved.
We have been teaching the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course for many years and have assisted clients with many different life changing illnesses and events by giving them the tools , confidence and ability to take back control of their lives by simply “Being” here in the present moment, paying attention to that moment in a particular way , being non judgemental and opinionated within ourselves and just letting go.
We are delighted to announce that we shall be teaching our Mindfulness Based Stress reduction eight week course at Bristol City Yoga as well as at our base in Taunton. Our new MBSR course in Taunton starts on the 9th February (Thursdays) from 10-12 noon or if you can’t make a daytime course we are also offering Thursdays 6-8pm starting also on 9th February 2017.
