Module 6 – L: Lasting changes

Welcome to module 6.
This module is practical in nature, helping you appreciate how to sustain mindfulness and compassion at work. There is also information regarding the next steps if you are going on to go on to complete the JOY train-the-trainer programme.

This course is broken into a series of modules and lessons. On each module page you’ll find a table, just like the one below, where you can see the lessons available to you, and access the content.
To get started, simply click on the first lesson in the list.

In your journal…

After each practice spend a little time, perhaps a minute or two, in reflection, noticing what the experience was like. In this practice you might want to consider asking yourself:

What have you learnt on this course that will sustain you at work?

Creating ripples of resilience, happiness and joy

Like a single drop of water, a single action can radiate and improve other areas of our lives, and the lives of those around us.

What will your first 5 Ripples of Resilience be?

Think about all that you have learnt in this course. What 5 actions will you implement in your daily life going forward?

Write down the ripple effects you believe each action will have on your daily life. Make each ripple SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely).

Some questions to consider:

  • What action will you take?
  • When can you implement it?
  • Where can it be applied?
  • Who will it affect?
  • How will you take action?

Community of practice

We cannot do this alone. As humans we are social animals and staying connected to a community of like-minded, practising, supportive people is essential. This is why MindfulnessUK has a warm, invitational, extensive community. It’s FREE to become a Member and opens up so many more resources, practices, a forum, discussion groups and many more things besides.

If you’d like to join, please follow this link >> Learn more about the Community <<

In this video, Kate takes you through all the benefits of being part of the MindfulnessUK Community. (5.26 mins)

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to manifest the light that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence, our connected presence, automatically liberates others.” — Adapted from Marianne Williamson

There is Just One You so what do you need to build a more supportive community at work?

Many thanks for studying with MindfulnessUK, we hope you enjoyed the JOY Foundation Programme.
